World book day is 3rd March this year, which is next week.

It's the time of year when we celebrate books and reading for pleasure. Every child will be given a £1 book voucher which can be used to buy one of the books published especially for the event. These special books only cost £1 so effectively the book is free. They are available from book shops and supermarkets until 27th March but you will need to be quick as stock soon disappears.

Titles include: Kipper's Visitor

Supertato To The Rescue

Daisy And The Trouble With Jack

The Great Mouse Plot

Welcome To The World Of Norm

Star Wars: Adventures In Wild Space

Harper And The Sea Of Secrets

The Boy Who Could Do As He Liked

The vouchers can also be used as a £1 discount against any other book with a purchase price of £2.99.

As usual a book fair will be held in school it will arrive on World Book Day itself, 3rd March and will be collected on 9th March. It will be open in the Junior hall daily after school. The voucher can also be used as a discount against any of the books on the shelves.

In conjunction with the book fair a competition will be held to design a book mark. Each child will be given a book mark to decorate and create their designs on. Book marks need to be completed by end of school on Friday 4th March so that judging can take place. One lucky winner will be chosen from each year group they will be able to choose a book from the book fair as their prize.

In addition children and staff can dress up as their favourite villain.
